Torah and Talmud: a followup to Introduction to Judaism

This 4-week course examines our Jewish origin story and a tale of travel in time: Torah and Talmud with Henry Hollander. A next step class to follow Intro to Judaism. 

How much of the Jewish way of being in the world comes out of the texts that the Jewish people hold close and in common? Join Henry Hollander for close readings and ample discussions of a few select texts from the Torah and from the Mishnah and Talmud that combine narrative with questions of theology, philosophy and identity. No Hebrew knowledge required.

Instructor: Join Henry Hollander, a rabbinical student at the American Jewish University, a Jewish bookseller, and a founder of a Jewish cultural community called Der Nister (The Hidden) in downtown Los Angeles.
